Editorial Coverage

Prize pieces from the wardrobe are found in Dsquared2’s Fall Winter 2021 women’s collection. Shiny new things mix with favorite thick knitted sweaters, patched worn-in jeans, mini-skirts in soft-bubbled shapes and long check shirts appliquéd with crystals and an eclectic lineup that feels comfortable and familiar.

Conveying this feminine joy is a key look, the skirt suit in textured tweed with a mini bubbled skirt shape paired with a matching generous collared jacket over a skinny rib turtleneck knit—worn with sandals and an all-over sequin drawstring bag and a tiara headband.

The skirt suit also comes in leather or mixed nylon topped with a waxed yellow jacket with patch pockets. Bodysuits and dresses embroidered with poetry are paired with sporty details, color-blocked nylon wide legged pants with elasticated ankles and a long tailored jacket, or loose denim pants with paint splatters in a camouflage pattern.

Outdoorsy tweed checks and wallpaper florals in earthy tones take form in retro shapes: flared trousers, long sleeve dresses and blouses with delicate ruffles. Thick patterned handknits with Smokey the Bear, grizzly bear and maple leaf motifs are over cropped check pants, shearling split or allover sequin skirts. Hoodies, some with built-in bear ears or tiaras, or glistening with drops of beads, are layered with tailored skirts and stirrup pants.

A holiday on ice inspiration of skating costume glamour is found in dresses, in metallic lamé or tulle and coated with a sprinkling with crystals or delicate shimmering beads. Contrasting against the shimmer, a fur-like shaggy coat in wool and cashmere or check shirt jackets. The new collection includes a collaboration with Patrick Cox, the shoe designer behind the iconic Wannabe loafer and a teenage friend of Dean and Dan Caten.

Restyling the Wannabe’s famed square-toe form, first launched in the 90s, the Wanna-D2 comes in different styles: a heeled loafer with a mini platform, the same style in a high boot and thigh boot, and a lower ankle boot version with a chunky heel and a front strap with D hardware. Other heels in the collection are glittery with multiple buttoned straps, or strappy satin sandals with bows on the toe, and from Dsquared2’s outdoors inspiration a boot sandal is laced up to the ankle.

Playful, glittery jewelry includes earrings with keys, crowns, and flowers and with D and 2 motifs, gold necklaces with crystal stars and tiara headbands. Crafted in colored leathers, a structured multi-compartment shoulder bag in mini, small, and medium sizes is decorated with D2 gold hardware. Soft drawstring pouches looped on the wrist and a knitted white bonnet with pompom trimmed neck ties add allure to looks.
